CARROLLTON, Texas — A water leak on Luna Road in Carrollton prompted the road to close overnight after the water froze over the roadway and power lines, officials said. 

City crews began working to repair the leak Wednesday night in the 2100 block of Luna, Carrollton officials said in a social media post. The freezing temperatures caused the water to freeze, creating a surreal scene Thursday morning: A mini winter wonderland covering trees, grass and power lines, while the rest of North Texas was dry.

Water also froze on the road overnight, causing officials to close it. 

Officials cleaned and reopened the southbound lanes of Luna Road as of 10 a.m., officials said. The northbound lanes have one lane open as crews continue to repair the leak, officials said.
