The school district and police are investigating the allegations.
ALLEN, Texas — A North Texas teacher was placed on leave as officials investigate potential “inappropriate communication/conduct with a student,” the school district confirms.
Allen ISD says a Preston Elementary School teacher was placed on leave after the district was notified about allegations the teacher “potentially engaged in inappropriate communication/conduct with a student at Curtis Middle School.”
The Allen Police Department confirmed they’re investigating the allegations and Allen ISD says the teacher was placed on leave indefinitely while the investigation is underway.
Allen ISD identified the teacher, but WFAA is not naming them because the teacher has not been charged with a crime.
Allen ISD says they also notified the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the State Board for Educator Certification about the allegations.
“Since the District learned of the original allegation, other students have come forward alleging inappropriate behaviors and the Allen PD is in the process of contacting the other students’ families,” Allen ISD said in a statement.
Allen ISD is asking any student or parent with additional information about the case to contact the police.
