FORECAST DETAILS:
A weak cool front is dropping into South-Central Texas and is likely to generate scattered showers and non-severe storms from late morning through the early afternoon.
A few pop-up showers could develop into the afternoon as well, but the coverage would be limited.
Isolated, pop-up showers are possible Friday through the weekend, but better odds come on Monday and continue through most of next week.
Next week our weather pattern shifts keeping the “heat high” over the western U.S. and opening the door for a meandering upper-level low in the Central U.S. which will help bring rainmaking energy aloft. That combined with adequate moisture and instability will lead to the rain chances next week.
Not only is it rare to talk about rain chances in July, but below average temperatures are also in the works next week with afternoon highs in the upper 80s/near 90°.
