Crime is up everywhere, and horror stories have continued to pour out of big cities like New York and Los Angeles. We’ve seen assailants push unsuspecting victims in front of subway cars, viciously assault them in subway stations, and beat them senseless in even tony neighborhoods. This is life under woke George Soros-backed prosecutors like LA’s George Gasc?n, Chicago’s Kim Foxx, and Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner. Biden’s Department of Justice, meanwhile, seems like little more than a bystander in the wake of all this mayhem, although they do seem to have considerable time to raid regular Americans’ homes.
The latest crime seems to take on an even weirder tone though, as a gang of felonious females decked out in neon-green bodysuits assaulted and robbed a pair of 19-year old women on a Times Square subway train, beating them and then stealing cellphones, credit cards, wallets and anything else they could get their hands on. It looked like a scene out of the 1960s-era Batman TV show:
The cops have yet to nail down the perps, but one can’t help but wonder: how do you escape undetected when you’re wearing neon bodysuits? You’d think the green girls would be easy to spot. The New York Post reports:
Video posted online shows the six women aboard the train fighting with some passengers. At least one woman can be seen repeatedly punching a victim in her face while another appears to wrap her leg around a second victim and drag her to the floor.
A mother of one of the victims, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke out against the attackers:
“Animals belong behind bars. Make an example of them. What happened to the New York City we all loved? Start fixing it now!
How many times have we heard that plea? First, it was former Mayor Bill de Blasio who failed to do anything to tame the mean streets of the Big Apple, then along came woke prosecutor Alvin Bragg, who doesn’t seem to give a hoot about anyone but criminals; now we get Mayor Eric Adams who talks a big game but has been utterly unable to stop the carnage.
Fox5 in New York gives us more details:
A video of the attack showed the attackers getting on and off the train several times as it sat at the platform in the subway station. They continued the attacks over a period of several minutes until other passengers attempted to keep them from getting back on the train.
The women then took off from the train and have not been caught. Video of the women before the subway attack was posted on social media.
The victims were not seriously injured in the attack.
One of the weirdest things about the video is that there appear to be at least two men wandering around casually during the brawl as if nothing unusual is happening. Maybe for them, it’s not that unusual.
If you’ve ever seen the 1979 cult classic The Warriors, you’ll remember the dystopian vision of director Walter Hill, who peopled the City That Never Sleeps with violent gangs who each would don their own costumes. One gang dressed like a baseball team, another clowns, a third Mongols, and one even (pathetically) dressed in 1930s garb who called themselves “the Newsies.” Is that where we’re headed?
Our leaders seem to have decided that crime is just not that important. Voters think differently. In November, we’ll see if all those plagued by incessant gang wars and random violence will make their message heard.
