NY16 Primary: Hamas Caucus Member Jamaal Bowman Goes Down in Defeat As Bronx Democrats Choose Latimer

It’s official.

Embattled fire alarm puller Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) lost in his uphill primary battle against Westchester County Executive George Latimer in one of the most closely watched races in America Tuesday.

Though the results are still coming in as of this writing, with about 50 percent reported, Latimer leads Bowman 55 percent (21,770 votes) to 45 percent (17,833).

With his loss, Bowman has the distinction of becoming the first member of the so-called “Squad” of Democratic Socialists in Congress, led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to go down in defeat.

Though Bowman and his defenders, which include AOC, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), will claim pro-Israel “big money” groups like AIPAC bought this race, the fact of the matter is that it was Bowman who turned into his own worst enemy.

Bowman has staunchly been on the ceasefire, pro-Hamas side since the October 7th Hamas terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens, even coming out in November as a Hamas rape denier. He tried to backtrack later, but to no avail.

He used every trick in the leftist playbook against Latimer, calling him a racist as well as a MAGA candidate in Democratic clothing. In early June it was reported that Bowman told the DSA during an endorsement meeting that he supported the antisemitic BDS movement but couldn’t say that openly because his district was heavily Jewish.

And in another report, it was revealed that Bowman once asked a Jewish Democratic leader in 2022 to text a photo of the two of them together so he could prove he had Jewish friends.

As far as Latimer is concerned, the district being solidly blue means he is a shoo-in to be its next Congressional Representative.
