VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas — Crews on a plane that crashed in a field north of Wills Point walked away Wednesday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, troopers are on the scene of the crash on FM 751 north of Wills Point waiting for the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
DPS confirmed that people on the plane are OK and walked away from the crash, but the extent of any injuries is unknown at this time.
The FAA said the twin-engine Piper PA-34 landed in a field near Wills Point around 8:35 a.m. Wednesday. Two people were on board at the time, and the FAA is investigating. The agency is expected to share a preliminary accident/incident report soon.
