Officials continue search for a missing kayaker at Benbrook Lake after the kayak capsized.
TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Officials are searching for a missing kayaker after they capsized in the lake and did not resurface, officials said.
Officials responded around 4:25 a.m. March 29 to Benbrook Lake to reports of a missing kayaker, the Texas Game Warden said in a press release. Witnesses told officials the kayak capsized and the kayaker did not resurface, the release states.
Officials discontinued the search Saturday night and resumed Sunday morning, the Game Warden said.
The Texas Game Warden Underwater Search and Recovery Team joined the search Sunday using advanced sonar technology, officials said.
An 18-year-old drowned after kayaking in Benbrook Lake just ten days ago, WFAA previously reported. The 18-year-old man went missing on Benbrook Lake Tuesday after an incident caused him and two others aboard a kayak to fall in.
