Officials urge Denton residents to conserve water as city crews repair damaged filter

The city says conservation efforts can help prevent further restrictions.

DENTON, Texas — City of Denton officials are urging residents to conserve water as crews work to repair a damaged filter at one of the city’s water treatment facilities.

“While our team works diligently to restore full capacity, we urge all residents to conserve water as much as possible,” the city said in a Friday news release.

Residents are also being asked to adhere to a mandatory twice-a-week irrigation schedule by ensuring that automatic irrigation timers and sprinklers are set within the guidelines.

The city said these conservation efforts will help prevent enforcing additional water use restrictions in the near future.
