A shooting in east Fort Worth killed one person overnight.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police said they responded to a fatal shooting around 12 a.m. Sunday night.
Officers found a gunshot victim at 5428 Boca Canyon Dr. in Fort Worth’s Woodhaven neighborhood. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died. Police did not release the name or age of the victim.
Detectives learned that the victim and several other individuals were in an alteration that led up to a shooting in an apartment located within the complex, police said. The suspect fled before officers arrived. One person was detained for questioning. The altercation and eventual shooting are still being investigated, police said in a release.
Homicide detectives are investigating the incident and pursuing several leads, police said. Police made no additional details immediately available. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 817-392-4330.
