A woman died in the hospital after a fire at a North Texas mobile home community.
FORT WORTH, Texas — A woman died in Fort Worth on Wednesday night after a mobile home caught fire, Fort Worth fire officials said.
Around 7:20 p.m., the Fort Worth Fire Department received multiple calls about a house fire in the 4900 block of Collett Little Road, just off Mansfield Highway in southeast Fort Worth, according to a Fort Worth FD spokesperson. When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke coming from the center of the mobile home, the spokesperson said.
Crews began fighting the fire and learned a person was inside the home, the spokesperson said, which prompted a rescue effort.
According to the fire official, the crews located a woman inside the home and were able to get her outside, where they began rendering aid. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died, per the spokesperson.
The fire was brought under control, but no cause has been determined as of Wednesday evening.
