All lanes of a stretch of I-20 between Fort Worth and Weatherford will close overnight Friday for bridge construction.
FORT WORTH, Texas — If you’re planning to be out and about overnight Friday, there’s a road closure on I-20 to be aware of.
All lanes of a stretch of I-20 between Fort Worth and Weatherford will close from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday for bridge construction work.
The area impacted includes all lanes of eastbound and westbound I-20 from the I-20/I-30 split to Markum Ranch Road, according to a press release.
Drivers will be detoured through a signed route using I-30 and I-820 West Loop.


Our content partners at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram report the Texas Department of Transportation is building a bridge at the freeway’s intersection with Bentley Road as part of a $540 million overhaul of I-20 and I-30.
The first portion of the project, which began in 2023, includes adding lanes and new interchanges at Bentley and Walsh Ranch Parkway, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. The first part of the project is expected to be finished in early 2026.
