The driver, identified as 19-year-old Armando Tovar, Jr., was released from the hospital and placed under arrest for intoxication manslaughter, police said.
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A passenger was killed and the driver was hospitalized following a weekend crash in Grand Prairie.
The single-vehicle crash happened at 1:40 a.m. June 2 on the IH-30 Service Road at Belt Line Road, according to the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Police said a Chevrolet truck was headed westbound when the driver failed to execute a U-Turn and struck a tree.
The driver and the passenger, who suffered serious injuries, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
The victim will be identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office once a family member has been notified.
