Pedestrian and dog killed in Denton crash on Christmas Day, officials say

 

According to officials, the crash caused additional crashes.

DENTON, Texas — A pedestrian and a dog are dead after a crash in Denton on Wednesday night, officials said. 

The Denton Fire Department posted to Facebook at around 6:38 p.m. and said crews responded to a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a car, which caused additional crashes at University Drive and Ruddell Street.

Denton FD said Westbound lanes of the roadway were shut down and one dog was reported dead. The pedestrian was transported in critical condition to the hospital where they later died, Denton FD said. 

Denton PD said the crash is still under investigation and the road is expected to be closed for another hour.
