Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan is always an interesting voice; whether you agree with her or not, she is a master wordsmith who has won many awards, including a Pulitzer. She was Ronald Reagan’s primary speechwriter from 1984-1986 and wrote “The boys of Pointe du Hoc” speech on the 40th anniversary of D-Day in addition to his celebrated address to the nation after the Challenger explosion.

She’s no fan of Donald Trump, but in a Thursday op-ed, she made it clear she is also deeply unimpressed with Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris. The candidate simply refuses to answer anything, she opined, and is an “artless dodger.”
That pretty much sums up the VP.
Noonan:
Kamala Harris has made quite an impression. That walk is a stride, and she has appetite—she loves this thing, running for high office. She has sentiments—she loves to say what divides us isn’t as big as what unites us, which, though a dreadful cliché, is true.
But in terms of policy she is coming across as wholly without substance.
Noonan continued:
Joe Biden stepped aside, and Ms. Harris was elevated, two months ago. That is enough time at least to start making clear what she believes, wants and means to do. She hasn’t.
This week she couldn’t or wouldn’t answer a single question straight, and people could see it. She is an artless dodger.
Harris’ recent interviews and comments to reporters have been unmitigated disasters, as she delivers word salad after word salad and says little if anything of substance. She comes across more as an inexperienced, inartful new age preacher than she does someone who could be commander in chief of the world’s most powerful country. She has yet to do a single press conference since Joe Biden stepped aside in July.

Noonan argues that Kamala’s refusal to answer the most basic of questions isn’t just unimpressive; it’s disrespectful to the American people.
Failing to speak plainly and deeply now about illegal immigration is political malpractice on a grand scale. There are other large questions. What philosophical predilection does she bring to taxing, spending, regulation, to the national debt?
She owes us these answers. It is wrong that she can’t or won’t address them. It is disrespectful to the electorate.
Noonan’s pointed criticism comes as leftists such as MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton argue that Harris does not owe us any answers; she should just continue being a cipher simply because she’s running against Donald Trump, and that is reason enough for her to earn you vote. What dangerous and extreme nonsense.

I don’t agree with everything Noonan writes, and I think her disdain for Donald Trump is misguided; she calls him “awful.” Nobody’s asking you to have dinner with him Peggy, but life in America was measurably better by any number of standards under his leadership than it has been under the extremist Biden-Harris regime. Four more years of far-left rule could signal the end of the nation’s “exceptionalism.”
When it comes to Kamala Harris, though, the former speechwriter is dead on. She is an “artless dodger,” and the thought of her in the Oval Office should put fear in your heart.
