JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a train.
According to Jacksonville police, a train crash near the 100 bock of North Gillespie Avenue resulted in the death of a male pedestrian around 11 a.m. The pedestrian was walking in front of the train and did not respond to train warning horns.
He was hit by the train and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released at this time as law enforcement is working to contact family members.
The rail line and Gillespie have resumed normal operations.
