GRAPELAND, Texas — Police confirmed one man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Houston County.
Grapeland Police Chief Dale Linebaugh confirmed officers received a report of a shooting Sunday in Grapeland at a block party on 711 Lemon St. Officers found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene. The first victim was treated at Palestine Regional Medical Center before being released. The second victim, who was identified as Angus Walker, was pronounced dead at Crockett Medical Center.
One suspect, who was identified as Tavis Jackson, was taken into custody, according to Grapeland PD. A firearm believed to be involved in the incident was seized and will be tested and compared with other evidence from the scene.
