CARROLLTON, Texas — An armored truck employee was shot during a bank robbery in Carrollton, and four suspects have been taken into custody, officials announced Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 12 p.m., officers were called to the Bank of America in the 1100 block of S. Josey Lane in response to a robbery of an armored vehicle, according to the Carrollton Police Department.
Police said two guards operating the armored vehicle were robbed when they arrived at the ATM at the location. One guard was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, a county constable spotted the suspect vehicle headed eastbound on Interstate 20 in Smith County, near Tyler. The constable initiated a traffic stop, and all four suspects inside the vehicle were taken into custody.
Carrollton PD said the suspects are currently in the Smith County jail awaiting transport back to Carrollton.
The department said the investigation is ongoing and the charges against the suspects are pending. The suspects’ names have not been released at this time.
The department thanked the FBI, Texas DPS, Smith County Pct. 5 Constable’s Office and the Smith County Sheriff’s Department for assisting in the swift arrests of the suspects.
