A suspicious item was located near a Lewisville apartment complex, police said. A Denton bomb team is on the scene.
LEWISVILLE, Texas — After an investigation, police determined a suspicious item located near the entrance of a Lewisville apartment complex Wednesday was a “common kitchen item,” officials said.
The item was found Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of South Valley Parkway, the Lewisville Police Department said in a press release. The Denton bomb team responded to the scene, police said.
The northbound lanes of South Valley Parkway were closed from Ace Lane to West Round Grove Road for several hours and police asked residents to avoid the area.
After investigating, officials determined the item was a “common kitchen item thankfully, not a threat,” Lewisville police said in a press release.
“We appreciate the community’s vigilance and cooperation as we worked to ensure everyone’s safety,” the release reads. “If you see something suspicious, never hesitate to report it. It’s always better to be safe.”
