NACOGDOCHES, Texas — One person is dead and another was injured following a Thursday night crash in Nacogdoches.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, around 8 p.m., officers were called to a major accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle at the intersection of Loop 224 and Hwy. 7 E.
Police say a motorcycle driven by Shawn Pritchard, 45, of Nacogdoches, was headed north on the Loop at the same time an SUV, driven by Araceli Esparza, 18, of Katy, was traveling south.
The NPD says Esparza turned left in front of Pritchard causing the collision. Pritchard was also thrown from his motorcycle.
Pritchard was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Esparza was also treated for minor injuries at a nearby medical center.
The investigation is ongoing.
