Police are investigating a shooting inside an Arlington apartment that killed a man and woman late Saturday.
Officers responded about 10:20 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Slaughter Street, near Truman Street, and found two injured adults in the living room of an apartment, police said. They had both been shot multiple times.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital, where she died.
The woman was identified as 18-year-old Alexis Tyler of Mesquite, according to Tarrant County medical examiner records. The man has not been publicly identified, pending notification of next of kin but police said he was 19 years old.
Police did not say how the victims knew each other.
Detectives learned neither of the victims lived at the apartment complex but the man had rented the unit for the weekend through a short-term rental website.
Nothing appeared to be stolen, police said.
No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon, and detectives were still searching the area looking for additional evidence.
Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene, and police said witnesses told officers they saw a group of individuals run from the direction of the apartment, get into a vehicle and drive away after the gunshots.
