Police respond to reported break-in at Dirk Nowitzki’s house but determine it was false alarm, sources say

Police sources said Dallas officers responded around 4:40 a.m. to a burglary report at his home on Lennox Lane in Preston Hollow.

DALLAS — Police responded to a reported break-in at Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki’s mansion early Monday, but officers later determined it was a false alarm, police sources told WFAA.

The reported break-in at Nowitzki’s home comes on the heels of Mavericks star Luka Doncic getting his home broken into on Friday, police sources told WFAA. One day earlier, someone stole around $40,000 in items  from the vehicle of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, according to a police report obtained by WFAA.

In the Nowitzki report, police sources said Dallas officers responded around 4:40 a.m. to a burglary report at his home on Lennox Lane in Preston Hollow. The Nowtzkis weren’t home at the time, and are currently out of the country, the report said, but a groundskeeper on the property told police that a door handle that led to the home was damaged. Also, Nowitzki’s wife had received a notification from their alarm system about the same door, sources said.

The alarm notification went off about an hour before the groundskeeper noticed the damaged door, according to information obtained from police.

While it wasn’t initially clear if anything was taken from the home, police sources say officers eventually determined it was a false alarm on the door.

Nowitzki’s home, which is around 12,000 square feet, is located in the upscale Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas, according to property records, not far from Doncic’s home.

In the Doncic theft, police said, the star player’s home was broken into through his back master bedroom. The thief rummaged through the bedroom and bathroom and got away with a necklace worth $4,000, three earrings worth $14,000 and four rings worth $5,000, police sources told WFAA.

A separate police report says Sarah Ramos arrived at a Pilates class Thursday morning, and that she “quickly rushed inside due to the rain.” “Due to the haste,” the report continues, she “forgot to lock her [vehicle] door.”

When she returned and entered her vehicle after the class, the report says, several pieces of property had been taken. At this time, the report says, she “was notified that her credit cards were being used at [another] location.”

The report detailed several pieces of property stolen that amount to close to $40,000 in estimated worth, including designer handbags and wallets from Chanel, YSL, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, as well as computer software and cash.

The Dallas thefts follow a string of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes like Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Burrow.
