Popular face moisturizer recalled nationwide

The cream is sold at several stores and has become a viral hit on TikTok.

WASHINGTON — A popular face moisturizer sold by First Aid Beauty has been recalled nationwide after some jars of the cosmetic cream that weren’t meant to be sold were unintentionally distributed.

The FDA has classified the recall as a Class II, its second-highest risk classification. No details were immediately available, but the FDA’s report noted there was a deviation from Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations and indicated the recalled jars had been “intended for quarantine.”

The voluntary recall specifically affects 14 oz jars of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. According to health officials, 2,756 unfit jars were inadvertently sent out to stores.

Affected jars have lot numbers 24D44 and 24D45, with expiration dates between 4/10/2026 and 4/11/2026.

The recall was first reported by Newsweek

The recall was issued on Dec. 24, 2024, but has come to light a month later as the FDA on Tuesday gave it a Class II risk classification, which describes “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

First Aid Beauty is also in the middle of a campaign to raise funds for California wildfire relief funds. A 6 oz jar of Ultra Repair Cream, with unique branding on the outside, is being sold on the company’s website for $38, with 50% of the proceeds going toward the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

Those 6 oz jars are not included in the recall.

The popular cream is sold in stores including Sephora, and has become a viral hit on social media platform TikTok. Users there have praised First Aid Beauty’s products for soothing skin problems when other products don’t.

Anybody who has purchased First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream should check its lot number and expiration date, and contact the company by email if they have an affected jar.
