Police said power was shut off for the safety of crews after workers came into contact with a high-voltage line near a power substation.
BURLESON, Texas — The power is shut off to a “large portion” of Burleson as crews are working an “emergency rescue operation at a power substation.
Burleson police said initial reports indicate cell phone workers in the area of the substation in the 800 block of N. Burleson Road accidentally came into contact with a high-voltage line.
Police said power was shut off for the safety of crews during the rescue operation.
“Crews are working diligently to restore power, and further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available,” Burleson police said in a statement.
Oncor reports as of around 2:30 p.m. that more than 4,000 are without power.
