Prepare to Be Enraged: Mayorkas Says FEMA Lacks Funds for Relief Efforts After Billions Spent on Illegals

The stories coming out of Western North Carolina have been gripping and heartfelt as communities have become wiped out by the effects of Hurricane Helene. Hundreds remain missing, many people are stranded in remote areas with only airlift access, and supplies are unable to get to them beyond unconventional means.

Added to this calamity has been the sheer incompetence on display by the Biden-Harris administration. Biden has dragged his feet on dispatching rescue efforts, private helicopter missions have been shut down due to bureaucratic decision-making, and a Biden visit to the region led to no-fly zones hampering ongoing missions to rescue the stranded and deliver aid. Transportation Secretary “Mayor” Pete Buttigieg has even issued orders to halt drones from being used for searching for survivors in remote locations.

These are the times when citizens are not only justified in openly defying our government but are basically required to do so. When the lives and health of citizens are in critical jeopardy, sitting back and waiting for federal action is unconscionable. Ignore the feds and tend to your neighbors; the government is not your ally.

And now, as if to add a dollop of a fecal frappe to this crap sandwich, Alejandro Mayorkas has come out with a truly enraging announcement. This shell of a man who for years has proven himself a figment of a leader held a press conference on hurricane relief looked into the cameras, and without displaying an ounce of shame, declared that FEMA is essentially out of funds.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” Mayorkas said. “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.”

This is unacceptable, and you are about to see what makes this enraging. Mayorkas has directed the emergency relief agency to focus on the biggest self-created crisis in the Biden years, dealing with the flood of illegal immigrants arriving here. Last year FEMA allocated over $362 million towards its Shelter and Services Program to aid illegal immigrants. So far in 2024, they have nearly doubled that allocation.

In less than two years, FEMA has dropped more than a billion dollars on non-resident services, and now American citizens who are dealing with the effects of a natural disaster cannot be properly remedied. Harken back to the time George Bush was excoriated for the response in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The failures of this administration, after displaying layers of incompetence, are barely touched on by the media, and now the very agency designed to aid in disaster relief is broke due to placing its focus and funds elsewhere.

As has been repeatedly displayed during the Biden administration, Americans are considered second-class citizens within their own country.
