PREVIEW: FC Dallas looks for 2nd straight home win in mid-week match vs. Minnesota United FC

The last time FC Dallas played Minnesota United, the club was led by a different coach. The 1-1 draw was former manager Nico Estevez’s last game.

FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas enters their second match out of three in eight days as they take on Minnesota United FC on Wednesday night.

The clubs just played earlier this month, a 1-1 draw in Saint Paul. The tie was former FC Dallas manager Nico Estevez’s last match before he and the club parted ways. Wednesday’s match comes after a 2-0 home win against St. Louis CITY SC.

Interim head coach Peter Luccin, who has been with the club for more than a decade, said after the St. Louis match that despite the shutout win, “we need to do better, we need to play better.” Luccin further elaborated that the quality of play was lacking, but their passion and energy was there.

On Monday, Luccin said recovery from the St. Louis match would be key to their performance against Minnesota on Wednesday night.

“[The players] have been running a lot,” Luccin said. “We spent so much time without the ball … that’s the outcome. So, we need to recover first.”
