If you think the war on parents isn’t real, a stunning new video by Project Veritas might change your mind. An undercover reporter exposes Greenwich, Connecticut elementary school Assistant Principal Jeremy Boland admitting to discriminating against Catholics, being annoyed by parents, and refusing to hire older teachers because they’re “rigid.” It’s shocking stuff.
The video confirms our worst fears about what is often going on in the classroom. Boland, who handles teacher hiring for the public Cos Cob Elementary School, openly admits he thinks his job is to push Democratic ideals onto the children:
Boland: You’re teaching them [children] how to think. That’s it. It doesn’t matter what they think about. If they think about it in a logical progressive way, that becomes their habit.
Veritas Journalist: So, you kind of like, gear them to think in a more liberal way?
Boland: Mm-hmm. Believe it or not, the open minded, more progressive teachers are actually more savvy about delivering a Democratic message without really ever having to mention politics.
He’s just getting started though, and has no qualms about his systematic religious discrimination when hiring:
Boland: I’m not a huge expert on religion, but Protestants in this area [of Connecticut] are probably the most liberal. But if they’re Catholic — conservative.
Veritas Journalist: Oh, so then what do you do with the Catholics? If you find out someone is Catholic, then what?
Boland: You don’t hire them.
Veritas Journalist: So, would you ever hire a Catholic then?
Boland: No, I don’t want to…Because if someone is raised hardcore Catholic, it’s like they’re brainwashed. You can never change their mindset. So, when you ask them to consider something new, like a new opportunity, or “ you have to think about this differently,” they’re stuck — just rigid.
Not Catholic? Don’t worry, he’ll discriminate against you anyway if you’re not in the “right” age group:
Boland: I need younger [teachers]. So, because Greenwich pays very well, you get teachers from other districts who have been there for a long time, that want to come to Greenwich. But if they’re older, I’m not allowed to do that — I can’t tell them, ‘I’m not interviewing you because you’re older.’ I just don’t interview them. So, for one position, I think we had 30 applicants. So out of all those applicants, I don’t think I interviewed anybody over the [age] of 30…Because sometimes the older you get, the more set in your ways, the more conservative you get.
The non-profit Project Veritas was founded in 2010 by journalist James O’Keefe and has uncovered some bombshells in its history. Not surprisingly, in the days of politicized Attorney General Merrick Garland, they’ve even been raided by the FBI because they legally came into possession of Ashley Biden’s diary.
O’Keefe says in the video that Boland is in charge of 360 students and is “defying state regulations” with his discriminatory hiring practices. But it’s not just teachers the hyper-politicized educator has it in for, it’s also parents:
Boland: I can’t get past the parents anymore.
Veritas Journalist: What do you mean?
Boland: So, the parents feel as though it’s their responsibility to shape the schools, which then shape the kids, right? So because I can’t get past the parents, do I really have as much of an influence as, on the kids as I want? I try in my own way.
Boland then asks a rhetorical question: “do we work for the parent or do we work for the kid?” His reply: “We work for the kid.” The interviewer queries, “so it’s not about parenting?” His answer: “It shouldn’t be, I don’t think.” He then goes on to claim that he would never hire a conservative and that if you apply for a job you must fully support the trans movement or “you’re out, you’re done.”
Project Veritas’ video has evidently caused some concern, as Boland is now under investigation by Greenwich Public Schools:
“We do not… support any opinions that promote discriminatory hiring practices based on race, religion, gender, or age in any way, and we want to remind our entire community that our curriculum policies and procedures are strictly enforced by our board,” the Superintendant wrote in an email Wednesday.
Boland has plenty more to say in the segment, but most of it is in the same vein. I can’t for the life of me imagine what he was thinking when he smugly, blatantly described breaking Connecticut discrimination statutes. Was he trying to impress the female interviewer? Does he feel he’s just so above the law that he can say whatever he wants? Either way, his bigotry and his intent to indoctrinate students into Leftist ideology is shocking and gives proof to so many parents who are scared to send their kids off to the local school these days.
