Proposing? One of Airbnb’s top spots to do it is in Texas

(NEXSTAR) — Just in time for Valentine’s Day: Airbnb has released a list of some of its most romantic spots.

And one of Airbnb’s top stays to pop the question just happens to be right here in the Lone Star State.

The spot is the “Super Cute Retro Airstream” located in Wimberley — which boasts a 4.92 rating out of 5 across 680 guest reviews. The camper/RV is nestled among an oak and elm grove along the banks of a creek and offers guests a hot tub, fire pit, outdoor shower and a wood patio, all beneath glowing string lights.

The Airstream, which is owned by Superhosts Jennifer and Gregory, can be rented for between $165-205 per night and can accommodate two adults only, per the listing.

The Wimberley Airstream is among some other gorgeous destinations, including a 16th Century Dovecot in Edinburgh, Scotland, and a villa in Lake Como, Italy.

“We are thrilled that our sweet little Airstream has hosted so many special occasions over the years. It’s one of our greatest joys in hosting!” Jennifer and Gregory, founders of Vacation Wimberley told Nexstar this week. “We’ve had guests propose, celebrate wedding nights, anniversaries and so much more. We are truly honored to have created a space that has become a part of so many life stories.”

To single out its top proposal listings, Airbnb says it used guest review data from its pool of Guest Favorites, which are some of the most-popular listings with an average rating of 4.9 stars on average. From the Guest Favorites, Airbnb combed review data from the past 10 years to find the most mentions of “proposal,” and other similar phrases.

Airbnb says references to proposals at Airbnb rentals have more than tripled since 2018.
