In a move that keeps her fans on their toes, Beyoncé has gifted her audience with a surprise remix of her chart-topping hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” as first reported by ET.
Beyoncé dropped the re-imagined version, titled “Texas Hold ‘Em (Pony Up Remix),” which introduces new verses and some “New Orleans bounce.”
This surprise release comes hot on the heels of Beyoncé’s eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, which has garnered universal praise from both critics and fans alike.
Initially released in February, “Texas Hold ‘Em” quickly soared to the top of multiple charts including the Billboard Hot 100, the Hot Country Songs chart, and even the Billboard Global 200, marking Beyoncé’s first no. 1 on that chart since its launch in September 2020.
In addition to this musical surprise, Wednesday saw the launch of a mysterious new website, beencountry.com, by Beyoncé, sparking speculation among fans about a potential forthcoming tour announcement.
Furthermore, Spotify announced on Friday that Beyoncé’s eighth studio album had become the most-streamed album on the platform in a single day in 2024 so far. According to ET, it is the first country album to achieve this title.
Despite the country-inspired sound and features, Beyoncé clarified that Cowboy Carter “isn’t a country album, it’s a Beyoncé album.”
