Rain for San Antonio, heaviest south of I-10

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Morning sprinkles & light showers
  • Beneficial rain tomorrow afternoon and night
  • Amounts will vary significantly

FORECAST:

A few light showers remain possible through the night, but the beneficial rain will hold off until tomorrow. Intermittent showers with embedded downpours are expected tomorrow afternoon through tomorrow night with rain chances peaking at 70%.

The amount of rain your neighborhood gets will depend on where the heaviest downpours decide to develop. Accumulations will vary significantly with about 2″-4″ possible in San Antonio and lesser amounts north, higher amounts south. Not as much rain will fall on Thursday, but scattered showers are likely to redevelop in the afternoon with sunshine in between.

We can thank deep tropical moisture and adequate upper-level energy for this rainfall opportunity. The disturbance in the Southern Gulf, which has been getting all the attention, won’t have any direct impact on our weather.

The rain and clouds will give us a break from the heat with highs in the low to mid 80s Wednesday and Thursday but 90s and sunshine returns for the weekend.
