SAN ANTONIO – City council is set to decide whether or not the horse-drawn carriage industry will remain in San Antonio.
According to the city’s agenda, a decision will be made during a city council meeting on Thursday.

Horse carriages have been licensed in San Antonio since 1865. Currently, five companies have permits to operate five carriages each on downtown streets within two miles of City Hall.
City council has discussed several plans to phase out the carriages for months.
Supporters of the horse carriage industry staged a protest on Monday.
