SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said it has arrested a man in connection with a deadly stabbing on the North Side.
Officers said Carl Mott, 61, was taken into custody without incident at his home around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Mott is accused of stabbing a man nearly 11 hours earlier — just before 7 a.m. — near the 2600 block of Northeast Loop 410.
Police officers said they were called to the scene and found a man who walked into a business with a stabbing injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a life-threatening injury. He was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said they were able to identify and track down Mott through security footage. After securing an arrest warrant for the murder charge, officers discovered that Mott also had an active aggravated assault warrant.
According to jail records, Mott was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
For Mott’s murder (first-degree felony) and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (second-degree felony) charges, court records show a Bexar County judge set his combined bond at $210,000.
The victim’s identity is not yet known.
