SAPD identifies suspect accused of stabbing man during argument near South Park Mall

  

UPDATE 02/05/2025: Authorities have identified a man accused of stabbing another man during an argument near South Park Mall.

Christoper Aaron Ramirez, 41, was arrested on Monday, according to San Antonio police.

Ramirez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest detention with a previous conviction, SAPD said.

Police said Ramirez was taken to a hospital for a medical condition and was booked after he was released.

Original story: Two men were taken to a hospital after an argument led to a stabbing in the parking lot of a business on the South Side, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened in the 2400 block of Southwest Military Drive near South Park Mall just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The two men got into an argument in the parking lot when the suspect stabbed the victim, 43, in the chest before fleeing on foot, a preliminary report from SAPD on Tuesday said.

Officers searched the area and later apprehended the suspect. Both men were taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

The suspect is expected to be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the report.
