Saturday severe storms prompt WFAA Weather Alert Day: Track live forecast, radar updates

Scattered strong to severe storms were moving through North Texas early Saturday morning.

DALLAS — Saturday morning has been declared a WFAA Weather Alert Day by the WFAA Weather Team

While you’re sleeping, scattered storms will move through the DFW area during the morning hours, 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., with a chance of large hail up to the size of golf balls.

Regardless of storm intensity, a round of heavy rain and lightning will be moving through the DFW area during this time.

Stay weather aware in the morning!

IMPACT

We discussed the severe risk above, but the timing is another issue. The window of opportunity in the metroplex is 4 a.m. – 8 a.m. The storms will have heavy rain and lightning, so early-morning plans will be heavily impacted outside of the threat of very large hail.

NEED

Simply put, you just need to stay informed. Make sure you have a way to get warnings. You may also want to leave a little early and give yourself extra time to get where you need to be in the morning.
