Democrats are claiming Texas hasn’t increased funding for public education since 2019. But guess what? They’re wrong.
Last session, Governor Abbott secured more than $6 BILLION in new funding for public schools. This year, Governor Abbott will work with the Texas Legislature to secure over $5 billion more.
Contrary to the Democrats’ lies, Texas continues to invest in our public education system. But building the #1 education in the nation doesn’t just rely on money. It’s also about choice.
Democrats want to keep our Texas children in a broken education system. Why? Because they want control.
Governor Abbott believes every parent should have the freedom to choose the best education for their child.
This legislative session, Governor Abbott is fighting to give parents the power to choose the education path that will set Texas children up for success. School choice will give every student – regardless of background or zip code – the chance to attend the school that works best for them.

Hi, this is Greg Abbott. Whether you were born in Texas, moved here yesterday, or are following along from afar, I’m glad you’re here.
If you didn’t know, a tree fell on me while I was out jogging in my 20s and left me paralyzed from the waist down. Supported by my family and faith, I pulled through that difficult time and recognized life is defined not by the challenges we face, but by how we respond to those challenges.
This rings true for our state and its people, too.
