FORT WORTH, Texas — UPDATE: A WFAA reporter on the scene says the suspect has been taken into custody, and traffic should reopen on I-35W.

Multiple lanes of traffic on North Freeway and Northeast Loop 820 have been closed after a police pursuit ended and an apparent standoff is happening on an exit ramp Thursday evening.

According to police, the north and southbound lanes of North Freeway near the northbound ramp to Northeast Loop 820 are closed. In addition, police said the west and eastbound lanes of Northeast Loop 820 are closed in that area.

Police said they do not currently have anyone in custody as a result of this pursuit and will update when the freeways are back open.

A WFAA crew is on the scene and said it appears there is a standoff situation underway. Several police units have responded and a SWAT unit is talking to the person presumed to be involved.

The person is currently standing with one leg on the ledge of the ramp and is very close to the edge while talking to officers.

This is a developing story. WFAA will update you with the latest.
