WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Ranking Member Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today celebrated Senate passage of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0). As the Committee’s ranking member, Sen. Cruz helped lead efforts to move the two bills aimed at protecting children online.

Upon passage of KOSA and COPPA 2.0, Sen. Cruz said“Today is an important step in the fight to protect children online against vile and harmful content and possible predation. As the Committee prepared these bills for passage, I was honored to work with Senators Blackburn, Blumenthal, Markey, Cassidy, and Cantwell on two major pieces of legislation that will empower parents and protect kids from harms they may face online. While our work to hold Big Tech accountable is far from over, I remain dedicated to fighting for common sense, bipartisan legislation like the Take It Down Act and Kids Off Social Media Act that I introduced earlier this year.”
