South Carolina GOP Senator Tim Scott’s life story has always been one of hope and the American Dream. “From Cotton to Congress” will always be authentic and inspiring, because as opposed to many politicians, Scott actually lives out the values, ideals, and aspirations that he learned from his grandfather and his mother.

What is even more inspirational about his life is that since he was 28 years old, he has prayed for a wife. As someone who prayed for a husband since the age of 19 and wavered in hope until that prayer was answered at 39, there’s a special joy in seeing someone find their right person, especially when the season of waiting is long.
When Scott became engaged to interior designer Mindy Noce in January, the cynical among the political class (read: almost everyone) speculated that it was a manufactured engagement because Scott was being considered as a vice presidential pick for former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump, and he wanted to look the part. But on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Scott proved the cynics and the naysayers wrong.
But, he’s been doing that his entire life.

What beautiful photos that hopefully will portend a beautiful marriage. Scott spoke exclusively with South Carolina’s The Post Courier about his journey, saying he believed the timing was right, even though it took decades to see its fulfillment.
“Part of the blessing for me was not getting married before now,” he said, adding that it took him a while to learn some hard truths about love, or as he put it, “Right girl, wrong time is a mess. Wrong girl, right time is chaos.”
Scott and Noce started dating in 2022 after a mutual friend at Seacoast Church set them up. At first, Scott didn’t feel he was ready for a relationship. Thanks to the nudging from this friend, Scott took her number and gave her a call. That first phone call lasted for two hours and ended with them making the decision to do a Bible study together.
Starting out with similar goals and the right foundation is key.
In an intimate evening ceremony at the chapel at Seacoast Church on Long Point Road, the South Carolina Republican exchanged vows with Mindy Noce, a 47-year-old interior designer.
Among the readings at the wedding ceremony was a Bible passage that began with the reflection, “Two are better than one.”
The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Swayin’ to the Music (Slow Dancin’)” by Johnny Rivers.

The ceremony was an intimate gathering, officiated by Southcoast Church’s founding pastor Greg Surratt, who is one of Scott’s closest confidantes. The senator’s big brother Ben Scott was his best man. And Noce’s best friend from college Joni Blair was her matron of honor.
Also in attendance were some of Scott’s current and former congressional colleagues. OK Sen. James Lankford, WY Sen. John Barrasso, former NC Rep. Mark Walker, former TN Gov. Bill Haslam, former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, South Dakota Sen. John Thune, his fellow SC Sen. Lindsey Graham, and former SC Rep. and Fox News analyst and host Trey Gowdy.
Congratulations, Senator Scott and Mindy Noce Scott! What a great palate cleanser to a highly charged week.
