Senior shooting guard C.J. Wilcher explains why he transferred to Texas A&M from Nebraska

Three experienced collegiate players chose the Texas A&M men’s basketball team in the transfer portal this offseason, including senior shooting guard C.J. Wilcher, who departed from Nebraska.

“I think it was definitely the culture. And when I came on my visit, just being around here I tell everybody, ‘If you want to get a glimpse of who coach Buzz is, walk around the facility’ and that’s kind of what I got,” Wilcher told KBTX on Saturday. “I think it kind of fits me as a person and obviously I think as a player as well. I can shoot the ball and that’s something where the team struggled last year. I think it was just a perfect fit for me. Overall, as a person, as an athlete, who I want to become as a player and a person.”

The Aggies defeated Wilcher and the Cornhuskers 98-83 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in March. Wilcher had 2 points in 12 minutes.
