The Arlington theme park has a new policy in place ahead of the summer season.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Six Flags Over Texas has a new chaperone policy in place ahead of the busy summer season.
The popular Arlington theme park announced it’s bringing back a policy requiring all guests 15 years old or younger to be accompanied by a chaperone 21 or older to stay in the park after 4 p.m.
The chaperones will be required to show a photo ID to get into the park and each chaperone is limited to no more than 10 guests under the age of 15, according to Six Flags Over Texas’ website. Anyone under 15 found without a chaperone may have to leave the park.
Chaperones are required to be with their party during entry, stay in the park during their visit and be available by phone throughout their stay at the park, according to the website.
The policy applies to all Six Flags Over Texas ticket and season pass holders.
The policy was put in place March 22, according to their website.
“We believe these changes will help ensure that Six Flags Over Texas continues to have a positive atmosphere where generations of families and friends can gather for a day of safe fun and good food,” Six Flags Over Texas’ website reads. “A safe, family-friendly atmosphere of Six Flags Over Texas is the type of experience our guests expect and deserve. Over the past few years, there have been increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior at amusement parks and other major entertainment venues. This policy is being put in place to ensure that all guests have the best time ever and leave happy and eager to visit again.”
The policy is not brand new, though.
A chaperone policy was first put in place at Six Flags Over Texas this fall for Fright Fest.
