No one was harmed in the incident, officials say.
AZLE, Texas — A small plane was engulfed in flames after crashing Monday in Tarrant County, officials said.
According to a news release from the Azle Fire Department, crews responded to 4028 Silver View Lane at about 2:41 p.m. to the report of a plane crash and fire.
Azle FD said Tarrant County Regional Communications told them that the occupants, a pilot and one passenger, were out of the plane and walking. Once Azle FD arrived, crews found the plane on fire.
MICU ambulances from Azle and Eagle Mountain checked out the two passengers and reported minor injuries, Azle FD said. Both passengers were treated at the scene and released.
According to Azle FD, crews were able to extinguish the fire at 2:57 p.m.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said the pilot lost control of the plane after taking off from a nearby airfield.
The plane, a Starduster II, crashed around 2:45 p.m. in the woods on someone’s property near the Flying Oakes Airport, the FAA said in a statement.
Officials said no one was injured in the incident, including the pilot and the passenger.
The FAA will lead the investigation into the incident.
