The Olympic torch has been on a two month relay across France with about 10,000 people selected to carry the flame during the journey.
Some of the other torchbearers who will be joining Snoop Dogg during Friday’s leg includes French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar and Ukrainian retired pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka, the town’s mayor told AgenceFP.
The Olympic cauldron will be lit after the Opening Ceremony on the River Seine on Friday. The event is expected to last nearly four hours and will feature dozens of boats floating down the Seine carrying thousands of Olympic athletes to the Eiffel Tower.
But who exactly will light the cauldron has remained a secret. The president of the Paris 2024 organizing committee said on Sunday that the person who was selected wasn’t yet aware themselves.
The cauldron will be lit at a location in Paris that is being kept top-secret until Friday’s big reveal. Among reported options are the Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries Gardens outside the Louvre Museum.
