Students and staff were evacuated from the building and will return to their regular schedule when the building is cleared, officials said.
SOUTHLAKE, Texas — A low-grade gas leak paused classes Monday at Carroll Elementary School in Southlake, officials said.
The Southlake Fire Department responded to reports of a suspicious smell at the elementary school, according to a social media post from Carroll ISD.
Students and staff were moved to the gym and cafeteria while firefighters investigated the leak, the post reads. The fire department discovered the leak and immediately shut off the gas, the district said.
Officials are ventilating the school and once the building is cleared, students will return to their normal schedules, the district said.
