Recognizing Emerson Taylor Behrens for her participation in the 135th Brenham Manifest.
WHEREAS, The 135th Brenham Maifest is taking place May 2
and 3, 2025, and the spirited celebration promises to be great
fun for all who attend; and
WHEREAS, First celebrated in 1881, this event is one of the
oldest German spring festivals in the South; the celebration
highlights the rich cultural heritage of Brenham and Washington
County; and
WHEREAS, This much-awaited event includes an array of
festivities and features the coronation of the city’s junior and
senior kings and queens; this year’s Maifest royal court includes
Senior Royalty Queen Emerson Taylor Behrens, reigning over the
Senior Court of “Summer of a Lifetime”; and
WHEREAS, The outstanding young Texans who take part in the
Brenham Maifest are part of an enduring Washington County
tradition that provides hours of enjoyment and entertainment for
residents and visitors alike; the members of the royal court and
all those associated with the planning and preparation of the
event can indeed take pride in their contributions to the
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the 135th Brenham Maifest and
honor the members of the 2025 junior and senior royal court; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
memento of this special celebration.
