Commending the organizers, volunteers, and performers of the Victoria Bach Festival on their commitment to preserving the legacy of classical music.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Victoria Bach Festival as it presents its 50th
anniversary season of concerts from May 31 to June 7, 2025; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, the Victoria Bach Festival
has featured nationally recognized musicians from leading
orchestras and esteemed musicians and professors from
prestigious universities to share their talents with thousands
of music lovers from across the state; and
WHEREAS, Guests from all walks of life gather in Victoria
each year to be uplifted, inspired, and united by the
transformative power of classical music presented throughout
this extraordinary week of performances; and
WHEREAS, Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez
leads the talented and renowned musicians in a vibrant range of
music through deeply moving and diverse programs and concerts,
which take place during morning, midday, and evening intervals at
venues throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, The 2025 festival season will include 16
performances, and half will be offered to the public free of
charge or by suggested donation to amplify the festival’s
accessibility and community engagement; the Bach Festival also
supports and promotes musical excellence through the Emerging
Artists and Children’s Programs; and
WHEREAS, The Victoria Bach Festival has made a profound
impact on the culture of South Texas, and its 50th anniversary
season marks a significant milestone in the history of the arts
in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby commend the organizers, volunteers, and
performers of the Victoria Bach Festival on their commitment to
preserving the legacy of classical music and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this occasion.
