Barack Obama might be six years removed from the presidency, and Mumbling Joe(TM) Biden might be the current Democrat president, but let’s be clear: Chicago Jesus(TM) — I say that with great “admiration,” of course — is still the king of the Democrat castle, the darling of the lapdog media, and Hollywood’s #1 idol.
Speaking of Hollywood and its slobbery adulation of all things Obama, the former president received an Emmy on Saturday for his outstanding performance in… narrating a documentary. No, really — narration.
To be fair, Obama undoubtedly deserved the Emmy just as much as he deserved the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize — he was nominated less than two weeks after assuming the presidency and received the award after being in office for less than nine months — for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” That sure aged well, huh?
Barack “If I had a Son He’d Look like Trayvon” Obama would go on to become one of the most divisive presidents in U.S. history, as did his secretary of State, Eric “My People” Holder. But I digress.
Not to be outdone by the Grammys, which awarded Obama two awards for narrating his autobiographies, as reported by CNN [with glee, of course], the Emmys bestowed the award on the former president for “outstanding narrator” in the Netflix documentary, “Our Great National Parks.”
Even “better,” Higher Ground, Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company, created the five-part docuseries on national parks and wildlife throughout the world.
As CNN noted, the left-wing media lost their minds in praise of their long-ago anointed Boy King.
“Barack Obama is halfway to an EGOT,” AP trumpeted. “Obama is now halfway to becoming an EGOT winner, someone who has received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards,” The Hollywood Reporter celebrated. CNN was thrilled, too: “Barack Obama is on his way to a possible EGOT,” in its glowing piece.
In the trailer, Obama spoke like his normal globalist self:
When humanity started to protect these wild places, we did not realize how important they would become. They’re a haven for endangered species and a hotbed for scientific research.
We were so confined in the White House. Every time we had one of these trips, and you suddenly could see reminders of what this planet has to offer and emotions that were stirred […] I would always come back feeling different in a way that no other experiences gave me.
“Come back and continue dividing America along racial lines,” that is.
So here’s the thing. Obama shouldn’t be criticized by political opponents simply for winning an award — other than miserably failing to live up to the Nobel Prize he received, awarded by similar globalists who were betting on the come — that never came.
That said, the Grammy and Emmy nonsense is solely about those in the liberal media and entertainment industry who continue to idolize the Obamas and every new “awesome” thing they do, while obsessively attempting to destroy Donald Trump from the nanosecond he announced his 2016 presidential bid, which they continued throughout his presidency, and they continue to do so as we speak.
In Obama’s case, it’s not like the guy was the immaculate, transformative figure his sycophantic fans predicted he would be — and his administration was far from scandal free. Critics accused Obama of downplaying links to Islamists — Islamic militants — in the run-up to the 2012 election, and questions abounded over O’s mishandling of the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11 and 12, 2012, dogging Obama for months.
Republicans correctly portrayed this as an Obama scandal but the White House dismissed it as politics as usual. Remember? Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s condescending “What difference at this point does it make?” dismissal of the deadly attack during congression testimony? Yeah, that. In addition, Obama was plagued by several other major scandals during his presidency, but the syrupy adulation continued.
Finally, Obama’s not the Democrat Lone Ranger of controversies, of course — Joe and Hunter Biden were unavailable for comment — but, as always, the liberal media downplays their scandals, blames Russia, or ignores them, altogether. Hypocritical adulation remains the coin of the Democrat realm.
Barack Obama’s Emmy is solely a product that adulation.
