Structure fire in Denton leaves one dead, fire department says

 

According to the department, the fire is currently under control.

DENTON, Texas — The Denton Fire Department said one person is dead after being pulled out of a structure fire on Saturday evening. 

According to a Facebook post from the department, the fire is in the 3300 block of Avon near Station 4.

At 6 p.m., the department said crews had the fire under control. However, they asked that people avoid the area. 

The department told WFAA that an additional victim was found outside the house and taken from the scene in stable condition. 

There is currently no information on the identity of the person who died or what started the fire.
