According to a letter from Principal Sheri Hopkins, the administration and police found the student within a minute after being notified of a possible weapon on campus. The unloaded weapon was found in the student’s backpack and they were arrested.

Hopkins said there was no immediate threat to any students.

“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.
