Subaru of America Inc is expanding its presence and relocating its central region office to North Texas.

On May 20, the automaker announced plans to move its central region office from Itasca, Illinois to its existing distribution and training facility in Coppell as a part of a 200,000-square-foot expansion. Subaru is partnering with global logistics real estate firm Prologis on the expansion efforts and anticipates the upgrades to be completed by the end of 2024, allowing the company to move in early next year.

Approximately 30,000 square feet of the expanded building will be dedicated to the company’s central region sales and marketing operations. The 500,600-square-foot facility will also house its new Dallas Business Center. The Dallas Business Center will serve as the second location for Subaru’s Customer Advocacy Department and have an estimated 100 employees, making it one of the company’s largest after its Camden, New Jersey, site.

The renovation project will also include a 170,000-square-foot expansion of the automaker’s existing regional distribution center, which handles and stores automative parts and accessories, and add a classroom for its Quality & Service Area Training Center to train technicians and field service personnel.

“We are excited to expand our footprint and capabilities in the southern U.S., further supporting our customers and retailer network,” Jeff Walters, president and chief operating officer at Subaru said in a statement. “Dallas is a vibrant area with diverse talent that will add fresh perspectives and further enhance our company culture.”
