A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Bonham ISD was held on January 23, 2023, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Bonham ISD Administration Center, 1005 Chestnut Street, Bonham, TX 75418.

One or more board members may attend the meeting via video conference pursuant to Texas Government Code § 551.127.

The subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are listed below. Items do not have to be taken in the same order as shown on this meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified within the consent agenda were acted on at one time.

1. Call to Order at 6:00 pm by President Chance Roberts; members in attendance were Sean Floyd, Myles Galyon, Carlous Gilstrap, Jason Fox, Dr. LaTonia Arris, Jeri Lea Johnson and Kelly Trompler, Superintendent. A quorum was present

Jason fox left at 7:43pm; returned to Executive Session at 8:11pm

3. Pledge of Allegiance: Led by Brynn Hudson, Troy Latham, Riyaan Kumar, Georgia Sadler, Gabriel Chavez, Savannah Welch, Johnae Evans-Hudson, Alexa Nunez, Manuel Barron, Byron Arredondo, Vanessa Villanueva, Camdyn Eastman, Ayden Anderson, Molly Anderson, Henson Morrow, Olivia Perdue, Gentry Hicks, Eliza Kincade, Gabriel Garza, Kinley Moore, Melanie Sears, Emma Springer, Jared Solano, Aidyn Whitlock, Easton Harger, Lettie Lopez, John David Nelson, Valeria Olguin.

4. Warrior Talk

Sean Floyd – stated Steaks for Success was great fellowship for all.
Myles Galyon – thanked everyone for all of the School Board Appreciation gifts, and was extremely proud of all of the students that participated in Ft. Worth Stock Show.

Carlos Gilstrap – stated he was honored to serve on BISD School Board and the last two years have been great.

Dr. LaTonia Arris – expressed appreciation and gratitute for all of the School Board Appreciation gifts. Also, she is extremely proud of the Ag students that participated at the Ft. Worth Stock Show.

Jeri Johnson – stated the appreciation gifts mean a lot to her.

Chance Roberts – stated he is very thankful School Board appreciation is shown everyday, which makes it easy. Proud of all students who participated in the Ft. Worth Stock Show, they represented Bonham well.

6. Public Comment – Richard Brand from Linebarger discussed the excess check proceeds in the amount of $23,748.60.

A. Pursuant to Texas Government Code section § 551.074, discussion of personnel matters pertaining to evaluations, duties, terminations, replacements, reassignments, hiring, and additions to the staff

1. New Hire: Whitney Farris ~ Chief Financial Officer at Bonham ISD Central Office

Motion made by Dr. LaTonia Arris, seconded by Jason Fox to approve Superintendent’s recommendation to hire Whitney Farris for Chief Financial Officer.

Motion made by Dr. LaTonia Arris, seconded by Carlous Gilstrap to approve Resilient Intelligent Networks to provide a 5 year Cloud Control and Management License for Wireless Access Points valued at $57,000 with BISD’s antivipated e-Rate discounted portion being $11,400 and grant the Superintendent authority to negotiate the final contract.
