Suspect killed in police altercation in Haltom City, police say

 

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, police were trying to serve the suspect a warrant when they tried attacking one of the deputies.

HALTOM CITY, Texas — The target of a warrant was killed Friday in Haltom City when police said they tried to attack a Tarrant County deputy.

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were attempting to serve the suspect a warrant in the 5600 block of Twin Oaks Drive. 

The target of the warrant reportedly didn’t cooperate, had a knife and attacked one of the deputies, officials said. 

The deputy was injured in the altercation and the suspect was killed.

The reason for the arrest warrant was not immediately clear.
